About Us

Group of people enjoying time at the Hanover Elks Lodge.
Group of people enjoying time at the Hanover Elks Lodge.

On North Forney Avenue, just off the main drag in Hanover, the Elks Lodge has been doing something simple and rare: giving people a real place to belong. Members, guests, and neighbors walk through those doors and find a room that feels lived-in and genuine, not polished for Instagram but built for actual people who want good company after a long week.

The kitchen turns out great burgers that regulars keep coming back for, and the bar stays busy on nights when a DJ takes the stage and the dance floor fills up. The lodge books the kind of events that make a Friday feel worth it, from group dinners to members-only gatherings where the staff will even take your order in advance so you can show up and unwind without the wait.

With a 4.3-star rating across dozens of honest reviews, this is a lodge that earns its reputation the old-fashioned way. The Elks have held a charter in communities like Hanover for generations, and the mission has never changed: care for veterans, support local families, and keep the doors open for everyone who needs a table.

What We Offer

The lodge offers dining, bar service, and a rotating calendar of events that keeps the schedule full. Friday night specials, DJ events, and private group parties are staples, and the staff accommodates large parties by taking advance dinner orders so no one waits around hungry after a hard week.

Beyond the social calendar, Elks Lodge membership unlocks access to a national network of lodges, charitable programs, veteran support initiatives, and scholarships. Local Hanover members also benefit from the lodge's ongoing community giving, which has been a cornerstone of the BPOE mission since the organization's founding.

The facility at 47 N Forney Ave is available for private events and group bookings. Whether your group needs a casual dinner venue or a full evening with entertainment, the lodge team works with you to make it happen.

"Last night November 15th. We went there for a group party. I didn't like the food. The stuffed chicken and green beans were overcooked. The mashed potato was made from instant mashed potatoes. Then after dinner a mouse came into the dinner room."

"My friends and I were invited to attend a night that had a DJ and of course we accepted! We work long hours 5-6 days per week and they were kind enough to take our dinner order in advance as we do not get off work until 830pm on Friday night and unfortunately the kitchen has closed by then. We mailed in our official application and fees today and are hopeful we can at least enjoy Tuesday night dinner and drinks! I hope to see this place open more hours in the evening serving dinners and drinks because we would come every night!! I already am spreading the news and gave out 3 applications, I hope we can get this club hopping again! It is so beautiful and has so much potential we hate to see it empty!"

"I went a few weeks ago. It was busy in the bar area, with a pool tournament taking place. Nobody said hello, although lots of people saw me. Not the friendly bunch I expected. I also did not get a free drink as a visiting Elk. I will try again some time in the future, maybe!"

"The friendliest and most welcoming Elks Club around. Several members came over to meet and greet us. Food was tasty and plentiful. Gave us a couple of collector pins as souvenirs of our visit. Your hospitality was appreciated."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
